On 31 August 2014, the Italian postal service Poste Italiane issued a special postmark to mark the inauguration of the First European Crystallography School at the Univeristy of Pavia, and to celebrate the International Year of Crystallography.

Meanwhile, the Korean Crystallographic Association has been involved in the design of three commemorative stamps to celebratethe International Year.
