Partners of IUCr and UNESCO for OpenLab Benin: LAAAMP, Bruker
X-TechLab is a project designed by Thierry d'Almeida and Marielle Agbahoungbata, whose mission is to endow the local and regional scientific communities with technical skills that will allow them to use X-ray techniques as tools for solving specific critical socioeconomic issues. X-TechLab includes an X-ray diffraction and X-ray tomography lab, which will serve researchers from Benin and West, Central and East African countries. X-TechLab has temporary quarters in Cotonou, and will subsequently relocate to Sèmè City from 2021. Sèmè City is the International City dedicated to Innovation and Knowledge, presently under development. Two training sessions per year are planned and directed to 100+ students from Benin and neighbouring countries. The first training session at the X-TechLab is held within the frameworks of the IUCr-UNESCO OpenLab initiative in partnership with LAAAMP. More information about the X-TechLab.
