Partners of IUCr and UNESCO for OpenLab Tunisia: Bruker

As a continuation of the activities started during the International Year of Crystallography, IUCr and UNESCO organize the OpenLab Tunisia in collaboration with Bruker and the Tunisian Crystallographic Association. It will be in the form of a travelling lab and will be held in:

• Monastir, from 14 to 17 May (Contact person: Prof. Mohsen Graia) - Download the programme

It will make use of Bruker portable instrumentation (X2S single-crystal diffractometer and D2 powder diffractometer). Participants will be required to bring their own laptop to be used during the tutorial sessions.

Organizing institutions

Participation 

The number of participants is limited to 30 for each venue, since the workshops will have a number of practical as well as theoretical and discussion sessions. Applications must be sent by email to:

and must include:

• Registration form with motivations for attending the OpenLab;
• Curriculum Vitae;
• Recommendation letter signed by the applicant's supervisor (scanned and attached to the email).

Deadline is 5 March 2014. A judging panel, including local organizers and representatives from the IUCr, will evaluate the proposals and select the participants. Registrants will be notified by email on the status of their application.

 

Registration fee

A registration fee of 75 DT (equivalent to ca. 35 EUR) is required and will be paid on site at the registration desk. This will include:

• participation in all the sessions;
• workshop material;
• half-pension hotel accommodation (includes breakfasts and dinners);
• lunches and coffee-breaks.

Some bursaries to cover travel expenses will be available.
