Description | "From Batteriels to Biological Machines: Crystallography Frontiers - Everyday Materials" When it comes to crystallography, function follows form. Tune in to celebrate the International Year of Crystallography as Cora Lind-Kovacs and Jim Kaduk of the American Crystallographic Association join us to discuss recent advancements in research and everyday application. What You Will Learn
Webinar Details Date: Thursday, May 15, 2014 @ 2pm-3pm ET Fee: Free to Attend Download Slides: Available on Live Date Meet Your Experts Cora Lind-Kovacs (University of Wuppertal, Germany, prediploma; Georgia Tech, M.S., Ph.D.; Cornell University, postdoc) started her independent career at the University of Toledo in 2003, where she researches low temperature routes for the synthesis of advanced solid-state materials, with particular focus on negative thermal expansion materials and metal sulfides.
Jim Kaduk is an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at the Illinois Institute of Technology and President and Principal Scientist of Poly Crystallography Inc. After obtaining a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at Northwestern he worked on catalysis R&D at Amoco Chemicals. Jim is well known for his expertise in solving and refining crystal structures. His current work involves citrate salts, catalysts, pharmaceuticals, and long skinny molecules. He is one of the three main editors of the forthcoming Volume H of the International Tables for Crystallography on powder diffraction. He has 140 published papers on powder crystallography, and he has contributed 500 patterns to the Powder Diffraction File.
Dr. Robin D. Rogers serves as Distinguished Research Professor, Robert Ramsay Chair of Chemistry, and Director of the Center for Green Manufacturing at The University of Alabama. He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the American Chemical Society journal Crystal Growth & Design.
