The role of crystals in human life / Kryształy w życiu człowieka is a competition for secondary-school and university students.

It is organised to increase public awareness of:

• the presence of crystals in everyday life
• the way in which crystallography underlies most technological developments in our modern society.

Participants in the competition are asked to prepare a poster, a presentation or a video clip on the role of crystals in human life. The works should be sent to the organizers by e-mail: konkurs_krysztaly@chemia.uj.edu.pl.

Deadline: 28 February 2014.

Judging will be carried out in two stages:

• Online voting: 15 March–15 April 2014
• Experts’ evaluation: ­15 March–30 April 2014

Final results will be announced on 30 April 2014.
